amazing views and easy access to nearby landmarks
The amazing breakfast and fine views from the pool enhanced my stay as I explored the nearby gardens and the attractive Igreja Matriz de Estoi, just a quick stroll away. Perfect for someone who loves weekend city walks and discovering local attractions.

It was as expected, had a really nice stay for 4 nights. Fairly clean, hip new hotel, I loved comfortable modern and air conditioned rooms and dedicated staff. The restaurant was excellent for dinner, I tried fine dishes. The location was amazing, around 10-15 minutes walk from Roman Ruins of Milreu.
My room had not so great view.

The quirky nature of the hotel is most attractive, combining the old palace and modern rooms. It would be hard to beat the location - on a hillside looking out southwards to Faro and the coast, 7 miles away. The dining terrace and pool deck take full advantage of the view. Both the choice and quality of breakfast and dinner are excellent. The reception and restaurant staff were most friendly and helpful. A good hotel to relax and unwind.
The bar staff were very slow on the two occasions we wanted just a drink or sandwich, in complete contrast to their colleagues in the restaurant.

It is a beautifull hotel, which mixes modern architecture with an old palace. Brakfast is very complete. What pleased me the most is that children are welcome. And staff is very nice. Far away from the beach.

LOcation and setting were spectacular
Information from the staff was often contradictory. We were expecting a welcome drink and petit fours and everytime we asked where it was we got a different response. It took over 1.5 hrs to get a response. When we checked out, we were told that because we were checking out early in the morning and would miss breakfast we would get a refund and then the next person said no. On returning one night at midnight we arrived to find a horrible odor and had to change rooms !!

Perfect hotel, breakfast is very good and the rooms are beautifully designed, gorgeous location by the restored castle with a majestic view over the Faro area. It has incredibly nice staff and boasts amazing views of the poolside. The poolside bar is a nice plus.

The comfort of our bedroom with plenty of space and wonderful beds and bedding. Delightful and excellent staff. The lovely building.
There was nowhere of much interest to visit within reach of the hotel, and we ended up spending most of our time in and around the hotel. Some of the choices that have been made in adapting this beautiful building into a hotel are really crass. And modern 'office' type chairs and furniture spoil the dining room and the beautiful sitting rooms.

The service was outstanding, the food was outstanding. I was there for 3 nights and ate at in-house restaurant for dinner. The staff was knowledgeable with advice and suggestions.

Some staff very friendly, very nice hotel, tho few too many young children around to fully relax.

Outstanding staff - very friendly and helpful, comfortable, quiet, conveniently located with good views over the countryside. Unusual accommodation being a partially restored palace. Bedrooms in a new extension to the property provided modern convenience and comfort.
Modern furniature in the resored room looked out of place.

As a 3-4 days weekend break to enjoy doing nothing than reading, relaxing and rest, you can't find better !
The staff, despite their really dedication, isn't really fluent in languages. Not everyone speak english, en some were really difficult to understand.

It is a beautiful palace with friendly staff, which yet had its rooms all built in a brand new area. Therefore, all guests can enjoy the palace area, which is the service area, and have all the comfort a modern hotel can offer. Breakfast was excellent, and dinner was reasonably priced and quite good, although not really "gourmet".
They charged us for a family room, because of my three year-old. Thus, I was expecting a bigger room, maybe with a small separate area for her -- as we had the last couple of times we went to hotels, for no extra charge. However, it was a regular double room with an extra bed. Also, the chlorine in the swimming pool made our eyes hurt, and the temperature of the Turkish bath and the sauna were too hot and too cold, respectively, but there was no staff at the spa to resolve those issues.
